BNP Paribas in Colombia has a very long history, spaning more than 50 years in Colombia. in 1953 Paribas executed the first ever COFACE export credit anywhere in the world, while BNP had a local bank retail bank until the mid 1970's.

After their merger BNP and Paribas naturally combined their operation locally to create a very powerful and high profile institution in Colombia which has a broad product range. BNP Paribas through its representative office in Bogotá has a strong presence in Investment Banking in the country where it is one of the very top banks.
